Dogs
Canine Brief Pain Inventory. This publically available questionnaire is intend for owners, who spend a tremendous amount of time with their dog, to complete. The design of this tool helps to quantify the severity of chronic pain, and how it affects your canine companion’s quality of life, based on routine activities in companion dogs. You’ll see questions that are intended to assess the severity of pain in your canine companion as well as the how it impacts your dog’s typical activities. After you fill it out, your veterinarian can then help you decide what are the next steps to keeping your pet’s quality of life at it’s best!
-
Cats
Cats are incredibly complex in how they demonstrate pain, so unlike their canine companions, there are very few “form” questionnaires developed. However, North Carolina State University has tools for creating hand tailored questions for your feline companion, developed between you and your veterinarian.
